It’s been a slow ecig-news day and rather than report it might be better to create… well, sorta.
It seems that historically and culturally, we have many references to traditional cigarettes, but none to the electronic cigarette (that could be found).
Instead, as perhaps a first beacon for the age of “digital” smokes, and without intending any disrespect, here is a reworking of the great Scottish poet Edwin Morgan‘s “One Cigarette”:
“One E-Cigarette”
No vape without you, my charger.
After you left,
your LED glowed on in my ashtray
and sent up a long thread of such quiet grey
I smiled to wonder who would believe its signal
of so much love. One e-cigarette
in the non-smoker’s array.
As the last spire
trembles up, a sudden draught
blows it winding into my face.
Is it smell, is it taste?
You are here again, and I am drunk on your e-liquid lips.
Out with the LED.
Let the vapor lie back in the dark.
Till I hear the absent ash
sigh down among the flowers of brass
I’ll breathe, and long past midnight, your last kiss.
